? for you..

Is is bad that I am blogging right now while my hubby is out splitting wood all by himself?? He could use my help and I DID help some this morning BUT….well, I am just a bit tired of splitting wood. It’s just not fun.

No, THAT was not the question I wanted to ask..this is…

Do you ever feel like a room is ‘done’? Once you decide on a paint color and fabrics and furniture placement…do you feel like the room is finished?? Or are your ideas constantly evolving?

As you all know, I have been working on my dining room. I am happy with it so far but I am finding that I STILL want to change things. I planned this room and thought I knew what I wanted but I still have ideas I would like to try. I see other dining rooms and want to incorporate something in my dining room. So, that is my question for all you home decor buffs…Do you ever feel like a room is done??

BTW- I’m desperate for your opinion! I need to know I am not the only one with ‘Decorating ADD’!!!!

  1. My rooms are never done....I totally change my mind mid-stream into a room redo as well. I'm still trying to decide my 'style'...slowly weeding out those looks I like from those I love. It's hard because I love so many styles. Farmhouse, cottage, modern vintage, eclectic traditional, beachy....love it all. Love neutrals, love pastels, love aquas and browns....never ends!

  2. I am with Cindy, I suffer from what my husband calls "Shiny Ball Syndrome" I start a project, get SBS in the middle of the project and I am off on another tangent. I too am inspired by many different styles that I can't choose just one. My house is in constant "redo" and I have had to call a truce, Just One Project At A Time.

I don't know if a room ever feels done, I think it evolves over time, reflecting the growth and style of the home owner.

    Hope that helps...

  3. I'm with you, I like things to continually evolve. If I ever feel my house is "done", I'll need to move!

  4. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for your sweet comment about my bar stools!!

And, I had to laugh about your "Is a room ever finished? question. My answer is" Are you kidding? Every room is ALWAYS elvolving.
I'm in love with a look that I just finished, and then I go and see a picture that just takes my breath away. And, then I want that look!!! It's a curse, I tell ya, A curse!!
    Glad I'm not alone!

  5. I don't think any of my rooms are ever done. I always find something I want to add, take away, paint, sew or move around. I like that they're constantly changing. It's definitely not boring. I love your dining room BTW. Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

  6. I don't think I'm ever done with a room. I always see new things I like, new things I want to try, or there are things I grow tired of. I love changing paint colors, rearranging furniture, and playing with accessories. It keeps things fresh.

  8. Hehe, me too! It really is never done, but I'm kind of glad, because that would mean no more projects or thrifting! Thank you so much for offering to check Trader Horns for pavers for me. I'll have to see if there is a Trader Horn in Nashville. I appreciate it!

  9. You're not the only one! By the time I'm finally able to completely finish a room, I've normally changed my mind and want to go in a different direction. My advice? Stick with neutrals for the major expensive pieces, so changing things like paint and accessories won't break the bank.
